| Flora's Pet Project,
a 501(c)(3) animal welfare charity, pays
for spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations and disease testing for every pet in its
care. We work with a network of foster homes and
Poodle Rescue Connecticut
to provide care for homeless animals, including those who are ill,
elderly or injured and
who would otherwise be euthanized if left in a public shelter facility. We
also purchase items such as collars, leashes,
identification tags, special diets--whatever is needed to keep the pets
comfortable, happy and healthy while they wait for new homes. We have no
source of income other than donations, but we are a strictly volunteer
organization with no overhead--every penny donated directly benefits the
pets.
We ask our adopters to consider a donation of $200 for a dog and $125 for a cat,
but we may suggest higher donations for individual pets.
We are very lucky to have the incomparable assistance of "Keith the Kitty Man," who devotes every minute of his spare time to trapping, neutering and releasing/re-homing stray cats. You may designate all or part of any donation to Keith's very important fight against the cat overpopulation problem, and the funds will be applied immediately to the kitties' vet account. Tax-deductible contributions to help homeless dogs and cats may be sent to: Flora's Pet Project, 38 Fairview Avenue, Naugatuck, CT 06770. You may also earmark a donation to our "Sam & Jo's Dapper Dogs" fund, for our pets' grooming needs. Take a few moments to review the photos and descriptions of the pets currently in our care. If you find your next family member looking back at you, please fill out the on-line adoption application. PRIVATE PLACEMENTS: As a courtesy, we are happy to advertise the availability of pets who remain in their own homes while their current families look for new adoptive families. Under these circumstances, Flora's Pet Project provides no services to the pets, their families or their new homes, and makes no representations as to the pets themselves--we merely report what the families have asked us to report--and is in no way responsible for the outcome of any such adoption. There should be absolutely no fee involved in a private placement, and we do not suggest any donation to Flora's Pet Project. Help save a life. Adopt a pet today! See Contact Information, below.
