Sam & Jo's Dapper Dogs!
The well-groomed dogs you will see on this page have been buffed and
puffed with the help of "Sam & Jo's Dapper Dogs," a fund to help with grooming expenses so that
our foster dogs will look (and smell) their best in preparation for finding
new homes. This fund is the brainchild of a dear friend and firm
supporter who recognizes that a clean and well-groomed dog has a better
chance of finding a home, and it is named in honor of her beloved companions
Sam (canine, Flora's class of 2001) and Joanne (human, dog-lover, long-time
Flora supporter). Freddie, a Flora alumnus, demonstrates the
power of a good haircut, below. |

Melanie -
4-year-old Chihuahua mix Melanie is one of the nicest little dogs we've
met in a very long time. She is a white-and-blonde shorthaired
Chihuahua mix, she weighs about 9 lbs., she has a darling, outgoing
disposition with people and other dogs alike, and she is housebroken.
Melanie appears to be about 4 years old and because she came to us from the
dog pound we don't know why she's homeless, but some new home is going to be
very, very lucky to get her. We have had all of her vet work done and
she is ready to make a new start.

Regis -
1-year-old Chihuahua mix Regis is an adorable 1-year-old, 7-lb., tri-color
Chihuahua mix (he was sold to his previous home as a purebred Chi, but we're
not so sure). He is sweet and very, very affectionate, but because he
was kept in hiding from the landlord in his previous home he is
timid with strangers and didn't know a thing about the outdoors (Grass?
What's that?!) until he arrived at his foster home. Although Regis has
learned to love going for walks, he will still need some help with his outdoor potty habits.
This little boy is even cuter than his photos, and he will reward your
training efforts with a lifetime of tiny-dog love and loyalty. Regis
is fully vetted, of course.

Kathy Lee -
8-lb. cream-colored Chihuahua mix Kathy Lee is a beautiful
1-year-old, 8-lb., cream-colored Chihuahua mix who, along with her
littermate Regis, was kept hidden from the landlord for the first 9 months
of her life and still has a lot to learn about the big wide world.
Kathy Lee is just as sweet as Regis, but a bit more independent, and will be
a great little walking companion and cuddler. Kathy Lee needs a home that's prepared to put in the time to
socialize and potty train her properly, but the effort will be well-spent on
this darling little girl. Of course she is fully
vetted. |

Pepper -
2-year-old black & white Chihuahua mix Pepper, an adorable and very,
very sweet 9-lb. black & white Chihuahua mix, came to us after he was hit by
a car and he needed surgery to repair his broken pelvis. The surgery
went brilliantly, and after a few months of physical therapy, Pepper has
regained the use of all four legs and is ready to point them in the
direction of a new home. Pepper has been neutered, vaccinated and
heartworm-tested. |
